NEWS / Erstes Review des Abit NF7-S 2.0 im Netz aufgetaucht

07.04.2003 06:30 Uhr

"So what did I gain from all these? The sad news is this: Almost nothing. My maximum stable FSB is still 238 Mhz. This was what I could achieve with my previous Rev 1.2 as well even though I could only hit it with 2.26v...

When running my FSB over 238 Mhz, I encounter this issue of huge instability when running high Vcore such as 2.1v and also high CPU speeds. I have encountered this with both my DUT3C AIUHB 2100+ and my DUT3C JIUHB 1700+. It is not that my CPUs hate high voltages. My 2100+ maxes out around 2600 Mhz. But if I run a speed lower than this but with a higher FSB like 242, it will not even boot into windows. Similarly, if I run high Vcore with these FSBs but with a very low multiplier, it will also fail to boot into windows. I know some people also encounter the same problem with high Vcores. I don’t know if it’s the CPU that can’t take it or the chipset but clearly, things start getting weird at these high FSBs..."
